Who are Biff, Chip, and Kipper?Biff, Chip and Kipper have been friends to children learning to read throughout the generations. Biff and Chip are twins, and together with their younger brother Kipper, they have many fun adventures. Their friends include Wilf, Wilma, Anneena, and their dog Floppy. The gang also have a magic key, which lets them travel through time and space.
What's in the pack?This Biff, Chip & Kipper pack contains sixteen stories from Stage 5 of Read with Oxford . Each page contains five to seven sentences, and all the stories are thirty-two pages long. There are some continuing elements between the stories, such as a magic key that takes the characters on wild adventures. The books in Stage 5 are a more involved read than the previous stage. This set is for the reader who is flying solo and is beginning to read books on their own.
In these books, our heroes meet a princess in a tower, a secret pop star, and aliens who arrive in a fireball. They travel to Ancient Egypt, go on holiday by train, and use aikido in Ancient Japan. Along the way, you'll gain confidence in independent reading and get more comfortable with longer sentences.
About the booksRoderick Hunt and Alex Brychta first unleashed Biff, Chip & Kipper in 1985, when Oxford University Press published the first thirty books. Now they're a vital part of the Read with Oxford reading programme, which also includes great non-fiction and series such as Hero Academy , Winnie and Wilbur , and Julia Donaldson's Songbirds .
Read with Oxford arranges its books into six tiers, and the learner progresses through them at their own pace. Along the way, they'll learn how to read more complex sentences, expand their vocabulary into the words they'll use every day and beyond, and gain confidence in reading independently.
