Detalii produs

Descriere

The Demanded Self by David M. Goodman examines the intersection of psychology and ethics, challenging modern psychological theories for their failure to foster an ethically responsible self. Goodman critiques the focus on autonomous reason and scientific method, arguing that these approaches neglect the ethical dimension of human experience. Drawing on Emmanuel Levinas’s philosophy, which emphasizes a fundamental ethical responsibility to the other, Goodman offers an alternative view. He presents Levinas's concept of the self as relational and ethically attuned, contrasted with prevalent egotistical models. This book is essential for those studying ethics, psychology, and philosophy, providing both theoretical insights and practical applications.
