Johnson Beharry, a British Army private, has made a significant impact through his courageous service in Kosovo, Northern Ireland, and Iraq. His most notable act of valor occurred in Iraq in 2004, where he risked his life to rescue his wounded comrades under intense enemy fire. For his bravery, he was awarded the Victoria Cross, making him the youngest recipient of this esteemed military decoration.
Since receiving the Victoria Cross, Beharry has channeled his experiences into public service, speaking at schools, youth offender centers, and prisons to inspire and educate young people about the dangers of crime and gang culture. He is currently working to establish the JBVC Foundation, a charity dedicated to preventing youth crime and gang involvement. Additionally, Beharry demonstrated his versatility by reaching the semi-finals of "Dancing on Ice" in 2011, further engaging with the public and using his platform to make a positive impact.
